Morgan Stanley is looking for a Teradata Developer (Associate – Software Engineering) to join its Wealth Management Product Technology (WMPT) division in Bengaluru.

About the Team:

The Wealth Management Technology division builds, delivers, and supports innovative technology solutions that power Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management business. Within this, WMPT is a fast-paced and dynamic team responsible for creating cutting-edge solutions for the Private Banking Group (PBG). This includes systems for online banking, lending products, cards, mortgages, securities-based loans, and much more.

Role Overview:

As a Teradata Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support wealth management business needs. You’ll work with data, optimize queries, and support analytics to drive smarter decision-making. This role combines problem-solving, data expertise, and engineering skills to deliver solutions in a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand business processes and translate them into software solutions.
  • Support developers and analysts with data modeling, query building, and optimization.
  • Ensure best practices in query optimization, database design, and performance tuning.
  • Develop deep knowledge of data domains, relationships, rules, and integration.
  • Enhance data collection and ensure data integrity for analytics.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and present insights in a clear, actionable way.
  • Work in Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, grooming, and daily stand-ups.

Key Technical Skills:

Teradata, Python, PySpark, Pandas, UNIX, Shell Scripting, Git, Continuous Integration, SDLC

Preferred:

Informatica (ETL tools), Tableau, Business Objects, Financial industry exposure, Agile methodology

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Teradata and relational databases.
  • Strong programming background in Python with additional exposure to PySpark or Pandas.
  • Good understanding of UNIX and shell scripting.
  • Experience with Git or other source control tools.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in Agile teams.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of ETL tools like Informatica.
  • Experience in financial domain projects.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau or Business Objects.
